![]() While I don’t know either, my take would be: choose cpp if you want to be productive (because everything exists) and do anything. Like the Linux kernel just added support but we are looking at decades before it’s a “rust based project”. Rust is going to be the next thing but that’s 1-2 decades away. We have decades of infra in cpp so it’ll be around for a very long time. Although I’ve heard numerous times it’s a terrible language in general. If you know C#, cpp shouldn’t be terrible to learn. Plus, after 8hrs of programming, I want to do music instead of programming in my free time. Rust is next on my list but like you said not enough time. But I have made several apps in go, crystal and lisp. So js/ts, ruby, sql (not a language but you get it). Maybe that’s a true deaf to statement but exploration is the only way to find out. Who cares what “isn’t metal”? It isn’t metal because no one has figured it out yet. Glad you found a love for synths after that band. I love edm but maybe I find a niche in vocal recording. Make no assumptions of what “I will do as a producer”. Study breadth, find what you like, dive in for depth. ![]() If you believe your post or comment was removed in error, check the rules and include a link in a polite message to the moderators.
